Common Service/Storage FAQs
Can I reserve a spot for storage for the upcoming season?
Yes, a $50 deposit will hold a spot for you until you drop-off or we pick-up.
When is my storage balance due?
The storage balance is due at the time of drop-off or before we arrange pick-up.
Can I drop off my boat or personal watercraft anytime like I can for other services?
Our preference is that the item(s) for storage is dropped off during service business hours. We would like you to come at least a 1/2 hour before closing. This is so we can review your boat or personal watercraft with you and document any known concerns in a quick walk through of the item(s) ensuring a quick and smooth return process in the spring.
What is the length of time that I can keep my boat or personal watercraft in storage?
The storage season starts on September 1st and ends on June 1st of the following year; additional charges may apply if the unit is stored beyond those dates.
Where will my boat or personal watercraft be stored?
We have nine indoor storage buildings, both on and off-site. Storage location is dictated by boat type, size and any additional service needs, as well as arrival date.
How long after arrival until my boat or personal watercraft is actually placed in storage?
We strive to complete winterizing service and place units into storage within 7-14 days, but this time frame could be extended if additional services are required. Your vessel will be safely stored outdoors on our secure lot prior to entering the winterizing queue and being stored.
Should I remove personal items and gear from my boat or personal watercraft?
Yes, this is preferred. Leaders RPM will not be responsible for personal items left on-board.
Should I remove my boat’s battery or batteries?
Yes. It is recommended that you remove, safely store and charge your batteries during the offseason. We will use a shop battery to retrieve your boat and/or perform winterizing service. Leaders RPM can not be responsible for battery condition if left onboard.
Am I required to keep my boat or personal watercraft (and trailer) insured while in storage?
Yes, you are required to have insurance coverage while storing with Leaders RPM.
What condition should I expect my boat or personal watercraft to be in after storage season?
Every step is taken to ensure your vessel is returned in the condition it is received. However, sitting idle for several months in a storage facility means that your boat or cover may become dusty or lightly soiled, and the ravages of time on upholstery, canvas and mechanical items will continue even while in storage. We do offer professional detailing services if you wish to have your boat or personal watercraft cleaned before receiving it back in the spring.
What additional services does Leaders RPM offer for my stored boat or personal watercraft?
We offer a full range of services: Maintenance and repairs from factory trained technicians, a full fiberglass repair and paint shop, custom covers and upholstery, and detailing services.
When should I schedule needed service or repairs for my boat or personal watercraft?
We recommend that any additional services are requested in the fall so these can be addressed over the winter season. Waiting until spring may cause delays in getting on the water.
Is my boat or personal watercraft started and water ready in the spring?
No. You may need to install and/or charge your battery, add fuel if necessary, and install your drain plug before using.
We offer a Spring Start Service for an additional fee that includes installing your battery, checking its condition and ensuring the engine starts.
How quickly can my vessel be made available for pick-up or redelivery in the spring?
We require a minimum two-week lead time for requests to pull from storage. We are unable to guarantee an available or return date if a request is made under that timeframe.
