Our History

Incorporated in 1977 Leaders RPM began as Leaders Printing Company as a specialty print shop. In 1980, Leaders also ventured into design, manufacture and distribution of hearth products and established a nationwide sales and distribution network. In addition, Leaders Heat Products Company opened a retail operation on Red Arrow Highway in Mattawan, MI. With the easing of the energy crisis in the early 1980's, Leaders looked to seasonal warm weather products to offset the retail operation's lull during the summer months.

In 1982, Leaders entered the marine and boat business with the Johnson Outboards and Smokercraft Boat brands. Leaders remained in the hearth products retail business until 2003. Since 1982, Leaders has added to and expanded its portfolio of quality marine products and now is known throughout the Midwest as a boating superstore and dealer.

Today, Leaders RPM represents all major brands of outboards and stern drives and over 10 brands such as Crestliner, Bentley, Trifecta, Lowe, Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and a variety of boats ranging from jet boats to cruisers, pontoons, bass to fishing boats. Our entry into the powersports market began in 1988 with Polaris® snowmobiles. Leaders is one of Michigan's largest snowmobile, PWC, ATV and UTV retailers representing Polaris®, Can-Am®, and Ski-Doo.
